Sur1 (Surface Water Run-off) and Sur2 (Flood Risk) reports for Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments
New development with drainage problems or flood risk? Need to satisfy the mandatory requirements or get extra credits for your Code for Sustainable Homes Assessments? We frequently act as an Independent Drainage Specialist and can produce Sur1 (Surface Water Run-off) and Sur2 (Flood Risk) reports.
Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS)
For proposed developments, our drainage specialists will carry out the design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS). We will develop the most cost effective solutions, balancing storage and discharge of the surface water within the constraints of the Environment Agency. This may include techniques such as green roofs and rainwater harvesting.
We would produce detailed engineering design drawings and specifications for the development infrastructure, including highway drainage, surface water drainage and foul water drainage.
Existing Drainage Problems
For an existing problem relating to any or all of the following:
- Property drainage
- Land drainage and surface water flooding
- Surface water sewerage
- Foul Water Drainage systems
- Highway Drainage
we would undertake a drainage study which may include capacity checks, attenuation tank calculations connection and diversion approvals, and soakaway design.
Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)
Planning Applications for Development Proposals of 1 Hectare or greater in Flood Zone 1 and all proposals for new development in Flood Zones 2 and 3 should be accompanied by a FRA.
We can carry out the FRA for the majority of low risk developments for a modest fixed fee. The FRA would be carried out to "an appropriate degree" and proportionate to the risk and appropriate to the scale, nature and location of the development.
